Amsterdam: State oil company Qatar Petroleum and Europe's biggest port of Rotterdam have agreed to a long-term cooperation on strategy and development, the port said on Friday.

Dubai: Qatargas, Shell and PetroChina yesterday signed binding sales and purchase agreements that will lead to the long-term supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) originating from Qatar to the rapidly growing Chinese market.

The enormous damage being done by "splash-and-dash" imports of American biodiesel was highlighted yesterday when one of the UK's leading operators, D1 Oils, said it was closing down all its refining operations in Britain after running up a £46m annual loss.

Iraq allows 35 companies to bid for oil contracts

Baghdad: Iraq has so far accepted 35 companies to compete for future oil and gas contracts from 120 companies that entered the process to qualify, a government spokesman said yesterday.
